Don’t many of us just want to feel better and have the pain gone? Absolutely. And yet, there is an opportunity when we just look at our bodies as more than something to fix.
As a massage therapist for 30 years I devoted my life to the study and practice of addressing pain and conditions in the body in a holistic way.
This is the essence of each session I embark on with my clients. The truth of one’s being is always speaking and it brings me joy in listening.
My Training:
CranioSacral Therapy, Upledger Institute
SomatoEmotional Release, Upledger Institute
Visceral Manipulation (Abdominal Massage), Natale Rao RMT
Trauma Release Therapy, self taught through 30 years as RMT
These therapies address many conditions from muscle pain, headaches, stomach issues, concussion and MVAs, dementia or even breast feeding issues and forceps deliveries. This is just a small list of what these therapies can address.
*Note: while I was a registered massage therapist for 30 years, I no longer hold my license nor that title. I am a Craniosacral therapist.

Brittney treats an array of musculoskeletal and nerve-related conditions but has a particular interest in treating complex pain and chronic pain. Through a 3 hour assessment that captures how pain shows up biologically, psychologically, and socially, she helps identify treatment options available to you, teaches you the neuroscience of pain, and helps you understand important concepts such as pacing and mini-goal setting, and how to challenge your negative beliefs of self.
Dr. Chisholm uses a lot of deep fascial release techniques which are unique to her practice. A combination of functional range release, massage, Rolfing, and trigger point therapy, to help fascia reorganize at various depths and in variuous planes that can contribute to chronic pain and biomechanical restrictions.

Dr. Mélanie LeBlanc grew up in Bathurst, New Brunswick, a small coastal town. She always loved the small town feel and the friendly people that came with it and was excited to get that sense of community again by moving to Powell River. Growing up, she was always active. She started figure skating as soon as she was able to get on the ice at the age of three and fell in love it. She later found other passions in volley ball during high school, yoga while at university, and now aerial silks right here in Powell River.
She always loved sciences and had a great interest in the human body growing up, and always wanted to go to medical school and become a doctor. She attended the University of New Brunswick where she graduated with honours in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and made the Dean’s list. During her time there, she decided she wanted to help people with a more natural and holistic approach, which led her to chiropractic.
Mélanie graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, ON, in 2018. During her internship year, she learned from the brilliant minds of her clinicians at the school’s clinic as well as the Sherbourne Health Center in downtown Toronto to treat her patients with love and care. During her internship year, she was a co-president of the Global Health Initiative club, which raised money for the Global Peace Network and World Spine Care, both of which provide chiropractic care to third world countries.
Since graduating, she has continued her education and is certified in the Webster technique (for pregnancy). She also has 50+ hours of continuing education in concussions assessment and treatment and is certified through Complete Concussion Management Inc (CCMI). She has also recently taken an interest in foot health and function.
Dr. LeBlanc’s treatments are evidenced-based and tailored to each individual. Initial visit includes a thorough history and physical exam to find the root of your problem. Treatments can include soft tissue therapy to release tight muscles, spinal and joint manipulation – including Diversified technique and drop-pieces from Thompson technique, rehab exercises that include strengthening and stretching, as well as healthy lifestyle advice and education.
She treats a variety of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. She loves treating anyone from pediatrics to helping seniors stay active and young at heart, and anyone in between!
